My Top 10 Favorite Hair Care Products of 2020
Hello hello! It’s been a MINUTE since I did a beauty post! I had great responses to my Dry Shampoo review post (but that was over two years ago!) So I thought I’d update you all on my hair care routine and favorite products in 2020- since our hair went through the pandemic with us, am I right?! Everything is linked! Enjoy~
- Dove Dry Shampoo: Hands down the best drug store dry shampoo I’ve used. Smells nice, costs less than $5, and doesn’t make my head itchy (even after multiple uses!)
- Betty Dain Shower Cap: It’s giant, and terry lined, and keeps all the moisture out while you stand in the shower and think about what you’re going to make for dinner.
- Lange Purple Shampoo: This keeps my blonde looking fresh in between salon visits. I use this at least every other week. It doesn’t dry my hair out like most purple shampoos. I follow it up with the Lange Balancing Charcoal Conditioner.
- Wet Brush: It’s kind of funny, I haven’t used a hair brush for… years! I always used a pick/wide toothed comb assuming that it was easier on my hair. I’ve been using this for almost 4 months and it’s great for in between washes (which for me is once per week :-D) this brush is AM-A-ZING. I brush my hair every morning and evening with this and it helps distribute the oils in my scalp throughout the length of my hair. I truly think this brush is what allowed me to go from two washes a week to just one! For $10, you can’t lose!
- Dae Prickly Hair Oil: Literally smells like fruity pebbles. Doesn’t make my thin hair greasy (shockingly) and can also be used on dry skin! This is a great product to help add back shine after you’ve been using dry shampoo a few days 😉
- Rusk Thick Volumizing Spray: If you struggle with volume but also greasy roots after washing your hair, this is the product for you. It doesn’t weigh down my freshly washed hair. Spray it in before you blow dry, after you comb and towel dry.
- Drybar Heat Protective Spray: This is my favorite heat protective spray! On hair washing day, I use a lot of products in my hair. This is what I use as I curl or straighten my hair. My hair still feels pliable yet protected from my hot tools.
- Hot Tools 24k gold Extra Long 1″ Curling Iron/Wand: This helps me get the perfect beachy wave and they last for DAYS! Adjustable temperature, use it as a curling iron or a wand, and perfect for any length hair!
- Amika Dry Texture Spray: This is what I use throughout my hair after curling with the above tool! I just lightly comb through with my fingers as a spray this. It smells delicious, leaves your hair pliable, but doesn’t weigh it down 🙂
- Anthropologie Tonal Hair Ties: I sleep in one of these every night! I’ve found that if I just put my hair on top of my head and wrap this tie around once, my curls stay basically in tact! They are also really pretty and look fabulous with any hair color!

I will definitely have to try a few of these! I also have thin hair, and it gets so greasy that I just have to wash it every day. I would love to be able to not wash it every day though! Definitely will be giving the dry shampoo a try 🙂
