Recreating Influencer Outfits from my Closet
I’ve started doing this thing where I am flipping through instagram stories and I get an add targeted at me or I see an influencer’s outfit and I’m like- I NEED THAT, and I screenshot it. So I’ve accumulated these photos and of course when I follow their links to “shop their feed” I have a heart attack when I see the prices- but I’ve decided to recreate their looks with WHAT I HAVE ALREADY!
Ok, let’s go.
Outfit #1: Black and Leopard
I basically had a version of all of these pieces, and of course I replaced the black camisole with a sweater, but this one was pretty easy and basic to recreate.
TIP: If you don’t have the same print of an outfit you are trying to recreate, try using a different print and following that color scheme with similar shaped pieces.
Outfit #2: Casual Cool but bundled for cold weather
I didn’t have all of these exact pieces but I focused on the color scheme where I had something similar, and where I didn’t have the color, I focused on the style- like with the coat, I didn’t have an olive green one, but my gray coat is a similar style.
TIP: Focus on color or focus on style when trying to recreate a look with pieces you already own. Even if it doesn’t look exact, this will give you a good base for the flow of the outfit.
Outfit #3: Casual boyfriend jeans and white tee
Well, since it’s 20 degrees here, I added a corduroy button down but this was another easy one to recreate.
TIP: Don’t feel like you have to buy more things to be stylish! Most of these pieces are classic wardrobe items. If you don’t have them, add them to your thrift wish list and try to accumulate them to your closet over time.
Basics I will always recommend having on hand:
- camel colored booties
- something leopard- whether that’s a skirt or a headband, this print is basically a neutral!
- a black sweater
- white t-shirt
- white sneakers
- a polished overcoat
