10 Mascara Comparisons and Reviews

Hi ladies!

So, I’ve been working on this post since February. In no particular order of “favorites” and in a completely unsponsored manor, I’ve compiled reviews of 10 different mascaras ranging from $6 to $35 and basically everything in between. I hope you enjoy! I love mascara – obviously 😉

  1. Maybelline Sky High Mascara (Washable) ~ $8.99
    1. Wears really well (all day no smudging or flaking)
    2. Very buildable
    3. Fairly quick dry time – but is really hard to remove at end of day.
    4. Creates very lengthy lashes
  2. Gucci Mascara (Washable) ~ $35
    1. Wears fairly well (may see some smudging/flaking)
    2. Very buildable
    3. Takes a few minutes to dry – I recommend some drying in between adding layers
    4. Creates volume and length for a very full lash look
  3. Pur Fully Charged Mascara (Washable) ~ $22
    1. Very easy to apply with little to no smudging
    2. Much more natural look
    3. Dries quickly
    4. Does not build as well but creates a natural look that enhances your own lashes
  4. Glossier Lash Slick ~ $16
    1. Kind of a dry formula but does not flake, just makes it a little harder to layer
    2. Good long wear at a reasonable price
    3. Very natural looking and a clean formula
    4. Creates more length than volume
  5. Smashbox Super Fan ~ $24
    1. Goes on smoothly
    2. Creates a good balance of length and volume
    3. Wears well throughout the day
  6. Lancome Hypnose Drama ~ $27.50
    1. Brush head can cause clumping but also mega volume
    2. Hard to layer once it is dry so you have to layer all at once
    3. Awesome length and volume
    4. Wears well throughout the day
  7. Urban Decay Lash Freak – $25
    1. Has a very intense brush that in my opinion makes it hard to not clump your lashes but maybe that was intentional?
    2. Gives kind of a tarantula lash look ~ hehe
    3. Very long wearing, dries quickly
    4. Creates a very dramatic thick lash look
  8. Covergirl Lash Blast Clean – $10.99
    1. Great oh-natch-ur-AL look that stays all day.
    2. A bit drying for me in the eye area when it’s on all day.
    3. Layers fairly well.
  9. Elf Lash It Loud – $6.00
    1. This one took me several tries and at first I wasn’t even going to share it on this list. But it grew on me. I actually like it a lot.
    2. It takes a couple minutes to dry, but layers fantastically if you are patient.
    3. A bit drying but a great formula for the price point.
  10. L’Oreal Air Volume – $13.99
    1. BIG FAN. Takes a few seconds to dry, but gives you a dramatic look with just one layer when you’re in a hurry.
    2. Lasts pretty well. Doesn’t get smudgy if you let it totally dry. I find myself reaching for this day to day when I just need to run an errand or two.

Well, I know you’ll probably never want to see my face again {{hehe}} but I hope this UN-sponsored review was helpful!! I love mascara so I basically am always up for trying new ones. What is YOUR favorite mascara? Please share!

XOXO ~ Taylor

  1. I’m 67 years old, and was a blonde until my hair turned gray. My eyebrows and eyelashes have always been blonde. That said, I’ve been looking for “The Perfect Mascara” for over 50 years! My husband has always joked that no matter what ever happened, we would always find the money for eyebrow makeup and mascara.
I really enjoyed your UN-sponsored reviews, and will definitely check out some of those.

  2. I just tried a new one from Lily Lolo called Big Lash and it’s really good! It’s great if you like clean beauty, but it’s a little pricey, at $22 a tube
