3 Spring Trends that you Probably Already Own
Let’s be honest, this years ‘Spring Trends’ are not all that ground breaking… not that I’m someone that needs to be impressed by the latest fashion phenomenons, but if you have shopped at all in the springtime in the last 5 years, you can probably skip this year because it’s pretty much the same as always… floral prints, pastels, and this year, minimalism- which consists of all things basic, so you probably already have those.
Floral
I got this floral dress last summer but I think I have at least 2 other floral print dresses that can carry me way into the summer months (they’re great for weddings too!) I like the a-line cut of this one which is very popular right now. I paired this with d’orsay flats but I’m excited for sandal weather too 🙂 This bag is REVERSIBLE guys! How cool is that? (The one I linked to below is also!)

Blue
The color blue is making a huge statement this Spring especially with the 70’s trends that have been popping up every where! Denim on denim and mixing every shade of blue imaginable is a foolproof way to make sure you match and it’s conveniently in style 😉
This outfit was all thrifted:)

This is a really simple outfit that I pepped up with a statement necklace.
Minimalism / Basics
You’ve probably heard about the ‘Capsule Wardrobe’ –> A smaller wardrobe consisting of separates that all mix and match. I personally think it’s a really cool concept, and while there’s no way I could ever get my wardrobe down to 33 pieces like all the minimalist blogs are preaching I do think the idea of a more functional and easier mixed and matched wardrobe makes sense. I added the trench coat and black ankle pants below to be classic pieces that will last a long long time. I really like the cut of these pants. They are slimming but not tight in the back and you can ‘pinch an inch’ if you will in the thigh.
Coat: Ann Taylor (similar here)
Dress Pants: The Limited (similar here) | Dress Shirt: Express (thrifted) (similar here) | Shoes: Nine west (thrifted) (similar here)
So, how many of these pieces are already in your closet?
Are you ready to refresh your Spring wardrobe?
Hopefully this post’s inspiration can help you put together outfits with pieces you already have! 🙂
Keep on keeping on,
I totally agree with you about spring trends – florals and pastels are not totally earth-shattering ideas. haha. But I love your denim-on-denim look. I think it would look smashing with a brown belt and a colorful bracelet or earrings. I always like to wear something colorful, especially in the spring and summer months.
Thanks, Bethany! I like your idea for a brown belt and colorful jewelry with the denim on denim look- I’ll have to remember that for next time! 🙂

This post echoes my thoughts on spring trends — they are rarely completely fresh and new. And I’m OK with that because that means my spring clothes should remain relevant and wearable for years. All of your outfits are lovely (and outfits I’d totally wear), but that first floral dress outfit is absolutely stunning on you!
Aww thank you, Liz! I agree with you about our spring clothes staying relevant! It’s nice that the spring trends aren’t too trendy, hehe 🙂
