Product Review: LipSense
Hello Beautifuls! Today I am so excited to tell you about an AMAZING product called LipSense!
This product is literally kiss, smudge, and water proof, comes in sooooo many colors and will change the way you wear lip color! Plus- It’s made in the USA!
I teamed up with Ashlee Simmons today to share this product.
Just so you know a little bit about Ashlee (besides how ADORABLE she is) I asked her about why she chose to start selling Senegence Products:
I became a Senegence Distributor in January of this year. I honestly just wanted more money for my family to take vacations and travel without it killing my bank account. I had been looking for something to do from home so I could spend more time with my kids. However, if I was going to join a team it had to be something I truly was passionate about. After trying the product, it was a very easy decision. I had never seen anything like it!
Because of Senegence my family has planned TWO vacations this year. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t even the best thing about this company. The relationships I have built with other women and the people I have met has been hands down my absolute favorite thing about Senegence. Secondly it is a wonderful feeling when a woman looks at you and says “I just feel pretty and I haven’t felt like that in a long time”. It is very rewarding.
My First Impressions:
While applying: The smell is strong, but does not last past applying. It took 3 coats on the top and bottom to get the full color (which I understand to be normal).
The gloss is surprisingly not sticky, which a love. I can tell it is very moisturizing! I’m wearing the color “Dark Pink” here:
User error: I did not get quite enough on the inside of my lips and of course once it dries and you apply the gloss and rub your lips together the color doesn’t smear so there is a bit of a hole in the color, but now I know!
After two hours: I drank my green tea frappachino and there was no lipstick on the straw AT ALL. I ate my breakfast sandwich and did not have to eat my lipstick as well because NONE SMEARED ON THE SANDWICH! I reapplied the gloss after all of that and the color still looked fabulous. I didn’t have any flaking or anything.
I continued to re-apply the gloss every 2 – 4 hours until about 5pm or so. After that, I was busy and didn’t re-apply the gloss. I didn’t really experience any noticeable dryness. And then… I was bad and I slept in my makeup (GASP). I know, I probably gained like 5 wrinkles but I was so tired. When I woke up in the morning my LipSense basically still looked perfect barring some minor cracking for being on for about 24 hours.
I exfoliated my lips in the shower and then wore it again on day two with no issues. I removed the LipSense at the end of the day first with a makeup remover wipe (that didn’t do a whole lot) and then by applying the Oops! Remover and following that with some micellar water.
I have not yet experienced any unusual dryness on my lips. This will probably differ for everyone when they are first trying it out though.
Here are some tips and tricks for first time users:
After wearing this off and on for about 2 weeks now, I am definitely sold on its staying power! I ate RIBS with this stuff on and this is what it looked like afterwards:
I also applied this on the 4th of July before going on about a 4 hour bike ride and only applied my glossy gloss one time in that 4 hours – by the end of a long day in the sun I had one small spot that had cracked (probably because of my lack of reapplying the glossy gloss) but other than that this stuff was still completely in tact!
It is really hard to get off. I have personally found that micellar water works the best for me. I am very impatient when it comes to taking my makeup off before bed though.
I mentioned at the beginning of this post that there are SO MANY colors! I was torn between these three:
From top to bottom: Luv it (has some sparkle/glitter to it), Strawberry Shortcake (a sheen), and Dark Pink (Matte)
So obviously I was attracted to the pinks with purple undertones.
Ashlee’s favorite is Caramel Apple for daytime and Purple Reign for date night!
