The Never Failing Color Combo

If there is one thing I’m sure of, it’s that black and white go together like peas and carrots.

This classic color combo has yet to fail me. I never feel unsure of myself when I’m wearing this combo- it’s like an instant confidence booster without going over the top.

Anyone can throw on a black dress or a black a-line skirt and look fabulous and I love that.

I had some unlikely outfit inspration from really rather an immodest outfit on Pinterest. A lovely girl was wearing a midi length black aline skirt but she only had a black silky camisole with lace detail tucked into it.

I got to thinking about how I could reproduce this out fit in a modest way without pushing boudaries and remembered the top I purchsed for this post and the 3/4 sleeve half-tees I just purchased when Zulily was having a sale.

The result:

I love the simplicity of this outfit but I also love how elegant it turned out to be. I added some slightly gaudy earrings and called it a day in the jewelry department.

I really really recommend investing in a few half-tees with summer on its way. They are a great layering help! See my review here.

What do you think of this outfit recreation?

Thanks for following <3

keep on keeping on…

  1. You and I dress so differently sometimes (give me all the color!), but girl, this look rocks! You are beautiful and chic in black and white. Love the shoes, and the 40s vibe with the trenchcoat. *hearts for eyes*
