On Trend: Channeling Your Inner J.Crew Style

Today I want to talk about the timeless and classic style that is J.Crew. I’ve been crushing on their thrown together yet perfectly polished in every way looks for a while now. J.Crew is known for their timeless pieces, most of which probably already lie within your closet but they have just that little extra oomph that carries it from drab to fab. Every once in a while I feel like I actually nail one of their ‘looks’ but most of the time I think the reality of it is that my style is a little more eclectic than their simple pieces offer. There is nothing wrong with either, but I feel like by the time I put on a simple outfit, it’s almost too bland for my liking. Kind of crazy how we think we like one thing and come to find it’s not always our style.

Anyways, I’m going to talk about 2 outfits today.

The first more dressy, the second more casual and definitely work OR weekend appropriate.

First, this J.crew Factory pencil skirt with it’s exciting blue and pink print. I paired it with my Ann Taylor Factory blazer and thrifted BCBG peeptoe heels. My version of recreating this look is not as neutral but it certainly follows the general guidelines. I kept the color scheme similar with different shades of blue and a pops of pink, sprinkled with neutrals. (Link to J.Crew version on pitcure)

This second outfit is probably my favorite because it could be dressed up more with a cute trench coat and a statement necklace OR you could dress it down more by throwing an open flannel over top.

This is a J.Crew factory scarf paired with an Ann Taylor (via ThredUP) top and NY&C khakis. I sort of folded the pant legs over at the bottom and rolled them. I picked up these Banana Republic d’orsay flats at a local consignment shop for under $10 and I’m a bit obsessed with them.

  1. Both outfits are just lovely ! I really love the ballet flats/loafers they add such a stylish kick to the outfit by the way they are cut out on the sides .
    Fun post !

  2. Yeees, I love checking out the J.Crew website to see how they styled their clothes. Jenna Lyons is definitely one of my “style icons” (but with higher necklines)! These are both great, but I love all the little details in the second outfit – those shoes rock!

    1. Haha! I agree, Hannah! Thanks so much for reading 🙂 I think the shoes in the second outfit are my favorite thing about it by far- besides the peachy scarf! 😉
