Autumn Trends | Bramblewood Fashion Blog Event

Today’s post is for the Bramblewood Fashion Blog event hosted by Ashley! She has challenged fellow fashion bloggers and Instagrammers to showcase their favorite fall fashion trends this year! How fun!

I’m joining in with every other girl and saying that I LOVE fall and all the cute trends that come with it. (Plus people start putting pants back on and that’s always a relief… just sayin’).

I am loving the 70’s styles that this fall has brought in the world of trends. Plus, I am totally channeling my Stevie Nicks style vibes. I loved her ‘drapey’, black tops and flared jeans. But I also love how fall fashion stays the same. Plaid, boots, the occasional spot of fringe. Poncho’s and big comfy capes. How could you not love this transitioning season?!

Ok. I’m cheating and posting two outfits because I didn’t take the time to write out a post for both 😛

Outfit 1 | Cheap Chic Vintage

The first one is a thrifted ‘vintage’ dress from probably the 90’s. Is that ‘vintage’? LOL. All I have to say is that I took the shoulder pads outta this bad boy. Need I say more?

The boots are from the Kohl’s clearance rack at the end of the season last year and the Kate Spade purse is from ThredUp.

My scarf is from Fair Trade on Main in Hudson, OH. An awesome shop with goods from all over the world!

I’m currently reading this book- Cheap Chic. It was written in 1975 and is so crazily applicable to today! It really drives home the fact that you don’t have to have a lot of clothes to be stylish. With a few basics and essentials you can be prepared for any event or occasion. I’m at a point in life where I want to simplify and really define my style. I don’t know how well I’m doing with that but it is an ever-going process. This book highlights how to make your clothing go farther and how to layer the same pieces in different ways to diversify their use. It talks about when to splurge and when to thrift. It’s really interesting!

Outfit 2 | Entirely Thrifted

This outfit is dun dun dun… entirely thrifted. I love when I can put together a group of entirely second hand pieces.

The skirt is a Talbot’s wool wrap skirt. I was so happy with this purchase. When I sit down it is still long enough to cover my knees, which is sometimes hard to find in a straighter laying skirt.

The top is Express brand. I love the simple elegant details on the collar.

Boots are from ThredUp. I went with black tights to blend everything together.

The bag. Ok, not to brag but I have been searching and searching and FINALLY found the perfect ‘bucket bag’. Idk if I have the right terminology for this particular purse but I knew when I saw it that it was puuuuur-fect! AND. It’s a vintage leather Coach bag. $39 from a local consignment shop. SCOREEE!

I went with a red lip. I’m currently testing out a new lip stain by Maybelline. We will see how it fares. I am totally high maintenance about my lip stick. I’m not a ‘re-apply every hour’ type girl. I’m the ‘eat three meals and still look fresh’ type girl. May seem unreasonable. And probably is. But it is what it is… 🙂

I hope you enjoyed some of my ‘Autumn Trends’. You can see others’ entries on social media under the hashtag #AutumnTrendsBF and on the Bramblewood Fashion’s Blog!

Keep on keeping on.
